What's soft washing?

Soft wash uses low pressure and a manufacturer-approved cleaning solution to safely break down mildew, algae, and dirt at the root. We use it on siding (vinyl, fiber cement, wood, brick), asphalt shingle roofs, and wood — anywhere high pressure would cause damage. It's what the siding and shingle manufacturers themselves recommend.

Will pressure washing damage my siding or roof?

Not from us — because we don't pressure wash them. We exclusively soft-wash siding and asphalt shingle roofs. High pressure on shingles strips away the granules that protect them; on wood it splinters and gouges; on vinyl it can blow water behind seams. Soft wash kills the mildew/algae at the source so the results last longer too.

How long does a house wash take?

Most 1-story homes take 2 hours, 2-story homes 3 hours. Full-package combos (house wash + roof + gutters + windows) are a full day. We'll give you a precise window when we confirm your booking.

What happens if it rains?

Accepted Answer

We never wash in unsafe conditions. If weather forces a reschedule, we move you to the next open slot — no fee, no penalty. Your deposit (if any) stays on file. Light drizzle usually isn't a problem; thunderstorms, high wind, or hard rain are.

Question 5

Do I need to be home?

Accepted Answer

Nope — as long as we have access to a working outdoor spigot and any gate codes you'd like us to use, you can be at work, at the lake, or asleep. We'll send before/after photos and a completion notice when we wrap up.

Question 6

Do you bring your own water?

Accepted Answer

No — like every soft-wash company, we connect to your outdoor hose bib (spigot). A typical job uses 50–250 gallons, less than a long shower or one dishwasher cycle. We confirm the spigot works as part of our pre-arrival checklist. If you're on a well and concerned about flow rate, just let us know and we can plan around it.

How much water does it use?

Small jobs (a few windows, gutters): 30–80 gallons. House wash 1-story: 100–200 gallons. House wash 2-story + roof: 250–400 gallons. Full exterior package: 400–600 gallons over a full day. For context, an average shower uses 17 gallons, a dishwasher 6, and a load of laundry 25. We're efficient with water and never let it run idle.

What about my plants and landscaping?

We pre-soak and rinse landscaping around the wash zone. Our soft-wash solution is biodegradable and breaks down quickly — when applied correctly with proper rinsing, it's plant-safe. Included on every job, no upsell.

Question 9

What's your minimum charge?

Accepted Answer

$175 minimum job charge. Small standalone jobs still need to make sense for travel and setup time.

How do you protect my property?

Accepted Answer

Soft wash by design is gentle — low pressure, right chemistry per surface. We pre-soak landscaping, cover delicate plants, and inspect for loose trim or shingles before applying chemistry. How is pricing determined?

Our online quote tool gives you a bracket based on house square footage, # of stories, window count, and gutter length. Windows are a flat $249 for up to 20 — extras at $10–$12 each. Gutters run $1.50–$1.75/lf ground, +25% for 2-story. The final price is locked in before we start — never a surprise after.

Do you offer same-day or rush service?

We try. If we have an open slot today or tomorrow, you'll see it in the booking calendar. Call (802) 585-5563 if you need to talk through a tight timeline — sometimes we can shuffle things.

Question 13

Can I pay after the service?

Accepted Answer

Yes. At booking you choose: pay now via Stripe, or pay on arrival. After the job we send a one-tap link to settle the balance and add an optional tip for the crew.

Do you do winter service?

Accepted Answer

Exterior washing is generally Apr–Oct in Vermont. We pause during freezing months because the chemistry and water don't work safely below ~40°F. Join the spring waitlist on our booking page and you'll get first crack when we reopen.
